Yateks Goes West: An InterTest Road Trip Story

We're on the road again! The past year has certainly been a challenge for so many , but we’re excited to get back to showcasing our newest innovative solutions. We take pride in going the extra mile – literally and figuratively – to support our customers.

We're expanding our partnership with yateks by showcasing one of their high-end superior videoscopes to our customers to help them see the difference...

InterTest, Inc. is celebrating 40 years of success this year and while many things have changed in four decades of doing business, we still believe that meeting our customers in person is the best way to understand what their inspection requires so that we’re placing the right solution in their hands to get the job done. We recently took our newest industrial videoscopes from Yateks along with other inspection tools on a road trip across Texas and Arizona to visit some of our valued aerospace customers.

One of the standouts of the trip was the Yateks P series 3.9mm dual view videoscope which has both front and side views enabled on one scope. Some customers were resigned to retracting their front view scope from the part and adding on the side view adapter each and every time a right angle view was needed. This accounted for lost inspection time and increased wear and tear on the scope.

When shown the dual view scope, users immediately recognized its potential for more efficient inspections since there was no longer a need to retract the scope to add on side view adapters at all. For orbital welds, the inspectors were able to locate the weld quickly and easily with the front view, then verify the weld with the side view – all in one pass and with both views visible on the same screen.

Another crowd favorite was the new Foreign Object Search and Retrieval (FOSAR) working channel videoscope paired with iGrab micro retrieval tools for foreign object debris (FOD) removal. A 2.3mm x 7.5ft length alligator jaws retrieval tool was inserted inside the working channel of an iShot® 6.1mm FOSAR videoscope. The user was able to locate FOD inside various channels within the part, then extract the FOD quickly and effectively using the alligator jaws to clamp on to the debris. The alligator jaws were clearly visible on the scope’s monitor and the entire process of positioning the jaws to extract the FOD was made easy.

A removal job that normally required several hours to complete took the customer less than 10 minutes using our paired solution. The customer noted that not only would this free up time to complete the job faster, but it would also free up resources to address other critical needs resulting in greater efficiencies.

These were just a few highlights of the trip and we’re just getting started. If you would like to see how our new solutions can improve your inspection processes, be sure to contact us today. We’re on the road again coming to a town near you, and we couldn’t be more excited.
