The rugged 18x XBlock outdoor camera integrates the Sony FCB-EX48EP block camera into a waterproof, aluminum housing that can withstand harsh environments. Its integrated zoom lens and powerful DSP delivers crisp video and easy set up over a broad range of applications. This robust camera is as simple or sophisticated as your application demands. Telepresence has never been so affordable! The Sony FCB-EX48EP is a 1/4-type EXview HAD CCD camera that reproduces images with outstanding 530 line resolution and 380,000 pixels. The camera's 18x optical lens with SMART lens control (Sony Modular Automatic Reset Technology) delivers a powerful 216x zoom (12x digital zoom). Advanced backlight compensation technology allows the CCD camera to produce high contrast images in comparison to conventional Cameras. Abrupt lighting changes are expertly handled with Sony's Exposure control technologies: Advanced Slow AE Response Function, and Auto IR Cut Filter Removal (Auto ICR). The camera communicates via RS-232 interface (VISCA protocol) and has an PAL signal system. With consideration given to environmental protection, this module is designed to operate with low power consumption and also incorporates lead-free and halogen-free circuit boards.
