SeeUV® VIBES®-L Landing Gear UV Camera Inspection System
The SeeUV® Video Inspection & Bore Examination System (VIBES®-L) is a cart-based Ultraviolet (UV) camera system. It is designed to carry out both UV and white light internal inspections related to fluorescent test methods such as Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT).
These inspection methods are used on large aircraft components, such as shafts, drums, and spools from engines and landing gear parts. Non-aircraft components such as gun tubes are subject to these test methods as well.
VIBES®-L provides life-like color video images using a camera optimized for both white and UV illumination. The system’s high-resolution color images, precise mechanical positioning, and ease of use result in an improved probability of detection (POD), reduced operator fatigue, and greater inspection productivity.
An efficient LED light source and liquid light guide maximize the UV transmission with peak spectral output in the 365nm range while minimizing the white light content, meeting or exceeding the requirements typical of (FPI) or (MT) testing procedures.
The insertion boom has a diameter of 1.6" and has a standard down bore reach of 72" with an optional reach up to 115". Elevation, insertion, and rotation are controlled independently with either motorized movement or manual hand wheels. Insertion depth and rotation positions are displayed on-screen for accurate location of indications and defects.
The captured images are delivered to a high-resolution Sony LCD monitor which is mounted on the heavy-duty steel cart.
