InterTest, Inc. is proud to announce the return of Ronald B. Walsh, Jr., who rejoined the company as Chief Technology Officer in July 2025. With more than 29 years of experience in engineering research, development, and manufacturing, Ron brings his technical expertise, leadership, and forward-thinking innovation back to the InterTest team.
A Proven Leader in Engineering and Innovation
Ron’s career spans leadership roles across industries, including power distribution, thermal imaging, fiber optics, and remote visual inspection systems. Most recently, he served as Sustaining and Tool Engineering Manager at ABB-Thomas & Betts in Hackettstown, NJ, where he led engineering teams in the design and manufacture of power distribution cable accessories, switchgear, reclosers, and power line switches.
From 2005 to 2017, Ron played a pivotal role at InterTest as Engineering and Production Leader, guiding the development and manufacture of advanced remote visual inspection (RVI) technologies. Under his direction over those 12 years, InterTest delivered some of its most impactful systems, including the SeeUV® Large Component Inspection Systems product lines, which are critical in the aerospace and aviation MRO industries. His team also pioneered the company’s first in-track camera system—a significant milestone that exemplified InterTest’s commitment to innovation in harsh-environment and precision inspection applications.
A Legacy of Engineering Excellence
Before his initial tenure at InterTest, Ron contributed to groundbreaking work in thermal imaging, night vision, and high-power fiber optic devices. At Electrophysics, he led the mechanical design and development of advanced thermal and night-vision camera systems. Earlier in his career, at Lucent Technologies and OFS Fitel, he helped engineer wireless telecom base stations and fiber laser systems, expanding the limits of optical and communications technology.
Ron holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Lafayette College and has completed graduate coursework toward a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Lehigh University. He is an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Welding Society (AWS), and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE)—reflecting his ongoing dedication to engineering excellence and professional growth.
A Vision for the Future
As CTO, Ron will lead InterTest’s engineering and product development strategy, advancing the company’s capabilities in remote visual inspection, advanced imaging technologies, and custom-engineered solutions. His leadership will play a key role in strengthening InterTest’s mission to empower industries—including aerospace, energy, and manufacturing—to see the unseen.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Ron back to the InterTest family,” said the leadership team. “His technical depth, hands-on leadership, and long history with us make him uniquely suited to guide our next generation of imaging, inspection, and OEM solutions.”
